Peanut Butter Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 large banana
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup milk
1 cup ice (optional)

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth. You blend ingredients together in blender with ice if you like. It makes a very filling breakfast smoothie that keeps me full well until lunch. I don’t get that with cereal.

Banana, Strawberry and Avocado Smoothie

Avocados are full of nutrients including fiber and potassium just to name a few. Adding them to a smoothie are a great way to add them to your diet.

Ingredients:

2 cups orange juice
2 bananas
1 avocado
1 cup strawberries
1 cup strawberry sherbet
1 cup ice

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high for up to one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Mint Cherry Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:
(makes 1 serving)

1 1/2 cups frozen cherries, pitted
1/2 cup orange peach mango juice
8 mint leaves

In a Vita-Mix blender, place all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Strawberry Jello Smoothie Recipe

Here’s a great tasting low calorie smoothie recipe you can enjoy any time of the year.

Ingredients:
(makes 2 large serving sized glasses or 4 small serving sized glasses)

1 small package sugar-free strawberry jello
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup crushed ice
1 1/2 cups fat-free cool whip

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, mix boiling water and jello until dissolved.

Combine cold water with ice.

Add cool whip to mixture in blender until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Fruity Soy Smoothie

Many people are using soy more and more as they try to lead healthier lifestyles and it’s not surprising considering the health benefits include protein and lots of amino acids that are needed for daily functions.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup soy yogurt
1 cup of soy milk
1 banana
1/2 cup cherries (pitted)
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup strawberries

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, blend all ingredients on high until smooth.

Soy Milk Smoothie Recipe

If you’re looking for a recipe that uses something other than ‘real’ milk, give this one a try – it uses soy milk.

This recipe makes 4 servings.

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen strawberries
1 banana (works best if frozen)
3 cups vanilla-flavored soymilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup sugar substitute like Splenda

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Banana Strawberry Smoothie with Almond Milk

Ingredients:

1/4 cup banana
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 cup strawberries
1 cup almond milk (or liquid of your choice)
Ice (optional)

In a Vita-Mix blender, blend all ingredients on high until smooth.

Orange Cranberry Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup cranberry juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1 banana

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender combine all ingredients; blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

New Year Smoothie

Technically this smoothie isn’t really for the ‘new year’ – it’s for whenever but seems how in January a lot of people are starting on healthier eating journey’s, this green smoothie is perfect for the ‘new year’.

Ingredients:
(this recipe makes approximately 4 glasses)

1 cup chopped kale
3 celery stalks (chopped)
1 cup fresh pineapple
1 cup mango (frozen)
1 banana, frozen
1 cup romaine lettuce leaves
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Gazpacho Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 small tomato, quartered
3/4 cup tomato juice cocktail, chilled
2 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro leaves
1 small garlic clove, chopped
1/4 jalapeno pepper (or to taste), chopped
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Juice of 1/2 fresh lime (about 1 Tbsp.)
Small wedge of fresh lime (for garnish – optional)
a cherry tomato (for garnish – optional)

Directions:

1. Freeze tomato in a plastic bag until hard, about 3 to 4 hours. (They will keep up to one week. Several tomatoes may be frozen at a time.)

2. Place frozen tomato, juice, cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, cumin and lime juice in a blender. Puree until well blended and almost smooth.

3. Pour into a tall tumbler filled with ice cubes. Garnish, if desired, with a small wedge of lime and a cherry tomato, speared on a short skewer and added to the glass like a swizzle stick. Serve immediately.
