This is one of my favorite summer time drinks. There's just something about the taste of frozen lemonade on a nice hot summer day.
6 oz. frozen lemonade or limeade
4 oz. concentrate, undiluted
16 oz. cold water
12 oz. lemon sherbert
ginger ale
Place the first three ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a pitcher; add ginger ale. Serve immediately.
->
16 oz. 100% grape juice from concord grapes
2 tablespoons lemon juice
8 oz. frozen dark sweet pitted cherries
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 oz. plain nonfat yogurt
Place all ingredients into your Vita-Mix blender and blend until smooth. Pour over ice cubes.
This is a big hit with kids! It's quick and easy and sherbet is a healthier choice than regular ice cream.
4 oz. prepared Jello - any flavor
4 oz. milk
4 oz. sherbet - flavor should match the Jello flavor
Mix in a Vita-Mix blender. Top with whipped cream and colored sugar. This makes a great and easy beverage.
Peaches are not one of my favorite fruits but I really enjoyed this smoothie!
1 medium ripe peach
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons honey
4 oz. yogurt
2 tablespoons granola or buckwheat crunchies
Blend the first four ingredients. Sprinkle granola or buckwheat on top.
2 oz. apple juice
1 pinch coconut, grated *
1/2 banana
1/4 teaspoon ginger root; fresh, peeled and grated
2 ice cubes
Blend all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender until smooth.
* Substitute with 1 Tbsp coconut milk (not the canned drink mix type coconut syrup, it is too sweet). If you using fresh coconut meat, throgh two 1 inch pieces in and blend until smooth (no worries about grit, the high speed of the Vita-Mix will pulverize the coconut).
If you like cappuccino you know how expensive it can get going out and buying it all the time from places like Starbucks. Now you can make one at home for less the cost and probably healthier too.
8 oz. brewed double strength coffee
4 oz. coffee ice cream
24 oz. ice
12 oz. milk
whipped cream
Place coffee, ice cream, ice and milk in a Vita-Mix blender. Mix until smooth. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon.
Vary the ingredients to suit what you have on hand. Obviously some children won't like the blackberry seeds, so you might want to leave the fruit off the top!

0.5 oz. fresh lime juice
