Energize Me Smoothie

You can make this recipe without the protein powder and flax seed oil if you wish. Those two ingredients make it healthier.

1/4 cup crushed pineapple, drained
1 apricot, chopped
4 strawberries, trimmed and chopped
1 banana, chopped
1 1/2 cups water
1 TBSP powdered skim milk
1 TBSP protein powder
1 tsp. flax oil seed

Add all the fruit ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend slightly just to combine the fruit.

Add water, powdered protein, powdered milk and flax oil seed.

Blend until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Almond and Peach OJ

This is a great recipe to experiment with. Replace the almonds with pecans or use pineapple juice instead of orange juice.

1 cup frozen peaches
1 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons toasted slivered almonds
1 frozen banana cut into small chunks

Add the juice to a Vita-Mix blender.

Add the banana and peaches.

Add the almonds.

Blend all ingredients until smooth or desired consistency.

Fruit Smoothie to Love

It's no surprise that kids like sweet things.  The honey in this recipe adds a touch of sweetness making it a kids favorite.

And we also know that kids can be picky so it's no surprise that some don't like cranberry juice. If your child doesn't like the taste of cranberry juice you can experiment with different flavored juices.

1 Bartlet pear, cored, peeled and cut into small chunks
1/2 cup seedless grapes
1 banana cut into small chunks
2 teaspoons honey
1/4 cup cranberry juice
6 ice cubes

Place the banana, pear, grapes and honey into Vita-Mix blender. Puree until very smooth.

Once the above ingredients have been pureed, add the cranberry juice and pulse 2 or 3 times until mixed together.

Now add the ice and blend to desired consistancy.

1 can (16 oz) blackberries in lite syrup, drained
