The All American Smoothie

If you like apple pie this smoothie is for you. The apple pie spice, applesauce and ice cream will give this drink the taste of mom's homemade apple pie. Yummy! This is also a great treat for kids.

1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup applesauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
2 ice cubes

Place the ice cream in a Vita-Mix blender.

Add the lemon juice, apple pie spice, applesauce and ice cubes.

Blend until creamy.

Serve immediately.

Fruit and Nothing Else

If you or your kids have a hard time getting the recommended daily amount of fruit this is a great way to do so.

1 cup orange juice
1 cup papaya, peeled and diced
1/2 cup cantaloupe, peeled and diced
1/2 cup mango, peeled and diced
2 apricots, pitted and diced

Pour the orange juice into a Vita-Mix blender.

Now place the papaya, cantaloupe, mango and apricots in the blender.

Puree the mixture using medium speed for 1 minute.

An Eskimos Treat

This is a great smoothie to have on a nice warm day because of the frozen fruits.  It's the middle of winter where I'm at but regardless of that this is still a wonderful smoothie!

1 frozen peach
10 frozen blueberries
1 (6 oz) container frozen low-fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 TBSP pecans, crushed
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Place the peach and blueberries into a Vita-Mix blender.

Now add the yogurt and pulse a couple of times.

Add the milk, pecans and vanilla.

Sprinkle in the salt.

Blend until just smooth or desired consistency.
