Tropical Fruit

Ingredients:

8 ounces honeydew melon (frozen)
8 ounces mango (frozen)
1 banana (frozen)
8 ounces yogurt (plain)
8 ounces peach nectar

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Put lid on.

On high, blend until smooth.

Fruit Fling Smoothie

Ingredients:

4 ounces pineapple and mango (ripe & cut up)
4 ounces milk
4 ounces yogurt (plain)
2 teaspoons honey

Directions:

Place all ingredients in Vita-Mix blender.

Put lid on and make sure it’s firmly in place.

Blend ingredients until smooth.

Wheat Germ Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 medium banana (ripe)
1 cup vanilla yogurt (low-fat or nonfat)
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 cup cracked ice
1 cup sliced fresh peaches or banana slices

Directions:

After cutting banana into chunks place banana and yogurt in blender. Add peaches, orange juice and the wheat germ.

Now add the ice.

Blend until smooth.

You may garnish with peach or banana slices and sprinkle 2 tsp. wheat germ on top.

A Smoothie Full of Carbs

Bet that title caught your attention. Especially considering we know that a lot of carbs aren’t good for us and we need to stay away from them. In this case the carbs are good carbs and ok to eat!

Ingredients:

1 cup yogurt (any flavor, but vanilla is a good base)
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1 small banana
2 cups of ice

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

On high blend until smooth or desired consistency.

Raspberry Soy Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup raspberries
1 carton (6 ounces) raspberry soy yogurt
1/2 cup cran-raspberry juice

Directions:

Place all ingredients in blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Fruit Tofu Smoothie

Ingredients:

4 ounces apple juice
4 ounces frozen vanilla nonfat yogurt or any flavor of sorbet
4 ounces soft tofu, drained
8 ounces fresh or frozen sliced strawberries or peaches
1 banana, peeled & broken into chunks
honey
ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender place all ingredients.

On high, blend until smooth (about 30 seconds).

Banana Papaya with a Hint of Tangerine Smoothie

Ingredients:

8 ounces tangerine juice
2 bananas (ripe)
1 papaya (ripe), seeded & skin removed

Directions:

In Vita-Mix blender place tangerine juice, bananas and papaya.

Put lid on and make sure it’s firmly in place.

Blend ingredients until smooth or desired consistency.

Banana Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

4 ounces blueberries
8 ounces frozen strawberries
1 banana (frozen – peel before freezing)
12 ounces milk
4 ounces frozen vanilla yogurt (may substitute with strawberry yogurt)

Directions:

Place ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Whirl the ingredients together until smooth.

Red Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients:

8 ounces low-fat strawberry yogurt or frozen yogurt
4 ounces cranberry juice cocktail
4 ounces strawberries (hulled, frozen)
8 ounces raspberries (frozen)

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Put lid on tightly.

On high speed blend until smooth, or desired consistency is reached.

Raspberry Chocolate Tofu Smoothie

Ingredients:

8 ounces raspberries (fresh or frozen will work)
4 ounces nonfat milk
4 ounces silken tofu (well-chilled)
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon flaxseed powder

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend until smooth.
