Vitaminlicious Smoothie

Here’s a great recipe that you can use each morning in place of a regular breakfast meal. It’s quick to make, delicious to drink and even better it’s full of vitamins!

Ingredients:

1 banana
1/2 apple
1 kiwi (peeled)
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup soy milk
1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
1/2 cup tofu
3 tablespoons peanut butter (use unsalted natural peanut butter)
2 tablespoons aloe vera juice
2 tablespoons flaxseed oil
1 teaspoon barley grass powder (optional)

Directions:

In Vita-Mix blender combine banana, apple, kiwi, mixed berries and orange juice.

Blend on high until smooth.

Add the reamainder of the ingredients.

Blend until mixed and smooth.

Tuiti Fruiti Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 cup milk (preferably skim milk)
1 banana
3 inch cube of soft tofu
3/4 cup blueberries
1 cup strawberries

Directions:

Place yogurt, milk, banana and tofu in Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on medium speed until smooth.

Add the berries.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Vanilla Yogurt and Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana
1 1/2 cups vanilla yogurt (Dannon brand)
3/4 cup frozen peaches
8 ounces frozen strawberries (whole)
1 tablespoon orange juice concentrate

Directions:

Place banana, yogurt, peaches, strawberries and orange juice in Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Tomato Smoothie

This is another recipe that is great for anytime of the year but can be especially beneficial in the winter months. Tomatoes are full of antioxidants and will help keep your immune system healthy.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup celery (chopped)
2 cups tomatoes (chopped)
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 cup tomato juice
1/4 cup apple juice
2 cups ice
Tobasco or hot sauce to taste

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Place lid snugly on blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Veggie Smoothie

This is a great recipe for anytime of the year but in the winter months it can help boost your immune system.

Ingredients:

1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup of cucumber (peeled & sliced)
1 cup sliced apple (use a sweet tasting apple)
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1/4 cup applesauce
dash of nutmeg (optional)
dash of cinnamon (optional)
2 cups of ice

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Place lid on blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Note: You do not have to use the nutmeg or cinnamon it just gives it a little extra flavor and will also give it a great smell.

Raspberry Lime Smoothie

Here’s a nice refreshing recipe to help you cool off on a hot summers day.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup lime
3/4 cup milk (low-fat)
1 cup lime sherbet (use light or low-fat)
1/2 cup raspberries
2 cups ice

Directions:

Slice lime.

Add lime, milk, sherbet, raspberries and ice to Vita-Mix blender.

Place lid on blender.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Note: If you would like you can substitute the sherbet with key lime yogurt.

Peach and Apple Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 peach, fresh
3 ounces milk, non-fat
2 ounces frozen apple juice concentrate

Directions:

Peel the peach and cut into thin slices. Place the thinly cut peach slices into a plastic bag and place the bag in the freezer for 1-2 hours.

Remove plastic bag (of peaches) from freezer. Take out 1/4 of the peaches and break into pieces.

Place the peaches (1/4 of them) into Vita-Mix blender.

Add 3 ounces non-fat milk.

Add 2 ounces frozen apple juice concentrate.

Make sure lid is secured tightly.

Blend on high until smooth.

Note: Use remaining peach slices as garnishment (they will be like ice cubes).

Mix-N-Match Smoothie

This recipe provides the perfect opportunity for you to throw together whatever combination you want. I’ve provided the list of ingredients now you get to mix and match!

Ingredients:

Fruits (select two or three):

1 peeled orange
1/2 banana
8 ounces strawberries (frozen or fresh)
8 ounces blueberries (frozen or fresh)
8 ounces blackberries (frozen or fresh)
8 ounces raspberries (frozen or fresh)
8 ounces cantaloupe, cubed
1 kiwi fruit
6 ounces pineapple
8 ounces mago, sliced
8 ounces papaya, cubed
1 peach
1 nectarine

Juice (select a couple):

4 ounces orange
4 ounces grapefruit
4 ounces pineapple
4 ounces cranberry
4 ounces guava
4 ounces prune
4 ounces tomato
4 ounces kiw-strawberry
4 ounces carrot

Frozen (choose one or use both):

4 ounces sorbet (strawberry, mango, lime, peach)
4 ounces fat-free frozen yogurt (you can use more than 4 ounces if desired)

Protein Supplements (Select One):

6 ounces non-fat plain yogurt
6 ounces soy milk
6 ounces milk

Extras (optional or select up to two):

1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
2 tablespoons ground nuts (almonds or walnuts)
1 to 2 tablespoons wheat or oat bran
1/2 teaspoon grated rind (orange, lemon or lime)
dash of vanilla, cinnamon or nutmeg
1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled

Directions:

Place all chosen ingredients into a Vita-MIx blender (frozen first and then liquid).

Add 4 ounces ice.

Make sure lid is securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

NOTE: If you use fiber in this make sure to add more liquid. Fiber will make your drink thicker.

Strawberry Raspberry with a Twist of Pineapple Smoothie

This recipe is another yummy one. The pineapple gives it just a little extra pizazz when it comes to flavor.

Ingredients:

1 cup strawberries
1 cup raspberries
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 cup low-fat natural yogurt
5 ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Put lid on and make sure it’s in place tightly.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Raspberry Banana with a Hint of Cherry Smoothie

Not only is this smoothie yummy it’s full of antioxidants.

Ingredients:

2 Cups Ice
1 Cup Frozen Raspberries
8 oz Tart Cherry Juice
1 Banana

Directions:

Place ice, raspberries, cherry juice and banana in Vita-Mix blender.
Blend on high until smooth.
Place a cherry on top as garnishment
Add a little squirt of whipped cream
