Chocolate Protein Smoothie

Grab a glass of protein in the morning. It will give you a little boost and start your day off on the right foot.

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk
2 tablespoons hershey’s chocolate syrup
1/2 teaspoon dry chocolate pudding mix
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 banana
1 cup ice

Directions:

Place milk, chocolate syrup, pudding mix, peanut butter and banana in Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until mixed.

Add ice and blend on high until desired consistency reached.

Spiced Fruit Smoothie

This is a great recipe to drink on a crisp fall day. Ok so it’s not quite fall yet but it’s certainly getting close.

Ingredients:

1 banana (works best if cut into chunks and frozen first)
1 cup strawberries
1/2 cup soy milk (you can use orange juice or water cinnamon)
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg

Directions:

Place all ingredients into Vita-Mix blender.

Blend until smooth.

Note: You can also make different variations of this recipe by using different fruits such as apples, peaches, etc. You can also add vanilla, cloves or giner if you want.

Banana Coffee Soy Smoothie

I’m not sure about the banana and coffee combination…it doesn’t sound like it goes together very good. If you try this please leave a comment letting me know how you like it.

Ingredients:

1 cup soy milk (vanilla)
1 cup (8 ounces) of coffee yogurt
2 bananas (frozen)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
2 or 3 ice cubes

Directions:
Peel bananas and cut into chunks.

Place bananas, vanilla soy milk, coffee yogurt, cinnamon and nutmeg into a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until mixed and smooth.

Add ice cubes and blend on high until desired consistency reached.

Banana Split in a Glass

Banana splits are yummy but certainly not on the healthy side. So here’s a recipe for a banana split that you can drink. The great thing about this recipe is you still get the great taste of a banana split but it’s a healthier version.

Ingredients:

2 bananas
8 ounces crushed pineapple, drained
1 1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of unsweetened strawberries (frozen or fresh)
2 tbs. honey
6 ice cubes
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional)

Optional Ingredients to Garnish With:

whipped topping
chocolate syrup
maraschino cherries

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender combine bananas, pineapple, milk, strawberries and honey. Blend until smooth, no lumps.

Slowly add ice and blend until slushy consistency is reached.

Pour into glasses and garnish with whipped topping, chocolate syrup and maraschino cherries (optional).

Jello Smoothie

Here’s one for the kids. The Sunny D and jello fruit jello cup make this a perfect ‘healthy’ kids treat.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
1/4 cup Sunny D
1 cup mix fruit in black cherry gel (fruit jello cup)
6 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender place berries, Sunny D and fruit jello cup. Blend until smooth.

Add ice cubes and blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Breakfast Smoothie

This is a great way to start your morning off on the right ‘foot’ – healthy. The whey powder is a great source of protein.

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen berries (you can use strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries)
1 scoop of whey powder
1 Tbsp flaxseed oil
1 Tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp unsweetened cranberry juice
1 pack of Stevia
8 ice cubes
1 cup water

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients except ice cubes to Vita-Mix blender.

2. Blend until all ingredients are mixed together.

3. Add ice cubes and blend until smooth or desired consistency.

Pucker Up Smoothie

This recipe will make you pucker up. It’s a little on the tart side but very yummy.

Ingredients:

2 cups frozen strawberries
2 cups lemonade
1 cup of fruit yogurt.
1/2 cup of ice
Lime slice (this can be used as a garnishment if you wish)

Directions:

Place strawberries, lemonade and fruit yogurt in Vita-Mix blender.

Mix ingredients together (blend on low).

Add ice cubes and blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Lots of Fruit with a Dash of Vegetable Smoothie

Here’s a delicious mixture of fruits

Ingredients:

1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1 small carrot
1 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 cup 2% milk
2 cups ice

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Place lid on blender and make sure it’s tightly in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Strawberry Banana Orange Smoothie

Ingredients:

6 strawberries cleaned and sliced
1-1/2 cups apricot nectar
1 banana sliced
1 cup orange sherbet
5 ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.
