A Little Bit of Everything Smoothie

Here’s another recipe with some interesting ingredients! It certainly doesn’t sound all that appetizing mixing these items together.

Ingredients:

All-fruit Popsicle
4 ice cubes
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of orange juice
6 oz flavored yogurt
1/2 banana
1/3 packet of instant oatmeal

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

Chocolate Frosty Smoothie Recipe

If you’ve ever had a smoothie from Wendy’s you know that not only are they yummy but they are fattening and certainly not all that healthy. Here is a recipe that is a chocolate version of what you would get at Wendy’s – it’s just a little ‘healthier’.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup milk (2%)
4 teaspoons Nesquik drink mix (Chocolate)
2 cups of vanilla ice cream

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

On high, blend until smooth.

Note: This smoothie is meant to be thick!

Raspberry Bananas with a Little Chocolate Smoothie

This recipe sounds great (haven’t had the chance to try it yet) even though it does seem like a weird combination. If you try it make sure to leave a comment with your opinions on it.

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen or fresh raspberries
1 ripe banana
2 tbs. instant chocolate pudding powder
1 cup cream soda
1 cup milk
2 1/2 cups ice

Directions:

Place all ingrendients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Apples and Apricots

Ingredients:

1 apple (golden delicious – peeled & cored)
8 ounces apple juice
4 apricots, pitted (use fresh apricots for best results)
1 banana
6 ounces plain yogurt
10-12 ice cubes
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth or desired consistency has been reached.

Spiced Apple Smoothie

Ingredients:

16 ounces vanilla ice cream (low-fat)
8 ounces cinnamon applesauce (unsweetened)
1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice or ground cinnamon
8 ounces milk (skim or 1% low-fat)

Directions:

In Vita-Mix blender combine ice cream, applesauce, and the 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice or cinnamon.

Blend until smooth.

Now add milk and blend until mixed.

Note: You may sprinkle cinnamon on top to garnish with.

Not Another Breakfast Smoothie

Here’s another great smoothie than is a good choice for a quick and easy on the go breakfast.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups milk (preferably fat-free)
1 frozen medium banana (to freeze: peel and slice banana, wrap in plastic wrap or use freezer storage bag and freeze overnight)
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
cinnamon (use as a garnish if you like)

Directions:

Place milk, banana, almond & vanilla extract in Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Pour into glasses and sprinkle cinnamon on top if you like.

Vanilla Grape Nuts Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Grape Nuts cereal
1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup ice
1 banana
2 cups juice (orange, apple or whatever you like. I wouldn’t mind trying pineapple in this)

Directions:

Place all ingredients into Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

Breakfast in a Glass Smoothie

Mornings are full of hustle and bustle. There’s kids to get dressed and out the door for school. Breakfast is an essential part not only for the kids but you as well. Get the boost you all need to get moving by enjoying this smoothie recipe.

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen berries (Recommended to use: blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and/or strawberries)
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 scoop whey powder
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon unsweetened cranberry juice
1 pack of Stevia
8 ice cubes
1 cup water

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth (or desired consistency is reached).

Lime Sherbet Smoothie

Here’s a great beat the heat summer time treat for the kids (and adults too!)

Ingredients:

2 cups cran-apple juice
1 1/2 cups of limeade
1/4 cup lime juice
2 scoops lime sherbet
1 cup ice

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

Just Another Blackberry Smoothie

Here’s another blackberry recipe. I have not tried it yet but it sounded really good so I wanted to share it.

Ingredients:

2 scoops of vanilla ice cream (a good start, yes?)
1 1/2 cups of frozen blackberries
1/2 cup of strawberries
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp lime juice (for a tart kick)
dollop of whipped cream

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender except for the whipped cream and blend until desired consistency is reached.

Pour into a glass and add some whipped cream.
