Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Boost Your Brain With Berries Smoothie

There are many different nutrition benefits to eating berries and different berries will have different benefits but most of them all contain vitamin C, potassium and calcium, just to name a few. Berries are also ‘known’ to boost your brain power.

But did you know that blueberries, raspberries and strawberries may help reduce your risk of several types of cancers? That reason alone is worth eating them.

Just one more fun fact about a few of the berries found in this recipe. Raspberries and blueberries contain something called lutein (A carotenoid that is found in yellow and orange fruits and vegetables, green leafy vegetables and egg yolks), which is important for healthy vision.

Of course drinking just one of these smoothies isn’t enough. You should make sure that your diet is rich in fruits and vegetables and while frozen berries are still good for you – fresh is best!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 cup nonfat frozen yogurt
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup ice

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Coffee In A Blender Smoothie

If you like coffee this recipe is for you. However, I’ve tried this one and I didn’t think it had that much of a coffee flavor to it. I think the other ingredients kind of ‘outweigh’ the instant coffee taking away from the ‘burst’ of coffee flavor I was expecting.

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons instant coffee
1 cup milk
6 ice cubes
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Cover and blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Hawaiian Smoothie

This sounds like a pretty interesting recipe. I have not tried it so let me know what you think of it if you try it!

1/2 package mango dessert tofu
1 banana (medium sized)
1/4 cup pineapple chunks from canned pineapple (plus a bit of juice – 3 to 4 tablespoons)
1/4 to 1/2 cup soymilk
1 to 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender. Blend on high until smooth.

1 pint vanilla ice cream

Blueberries And Bananas Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 bananas (medium sized)
8 ounces yogurt (plain)
4 ounces blueberries (frozen or fresh)

Once bananas are frozen solid remove from freezer and put in a Vita-Mix blender.

Slice berries and add to blender.

Blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 avocado (large sized)
2 teaspoons milk (condensed milk)
8 ounces ice

Directions:

Scoop out the avocado into a Vita-Mix blender.

Add the condensed milk.

Now add the ice.

On high blend until it’s a semi-creamy texture.
