Non Alcoholic Pina Colada Smoothie

Here’s a great recipe if you want the taste of a pina colada without the alcohol.

Ingredients:

1 cup pineapple
1 banana
1/2 cup vanilla or strawberry yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
3/4 cups milk
3 tbsp coconut

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

NOTE: This recipe works best if the pineapple, banana and yogurt are frozen first!

Cinnamon Peaches Smoothie

Here’s a great way to ‘eat’ peaches if you don’t like the sweetness of them. A little brown sugar and cinnamon take away their sweetness.

Ingredients:

2 cups plain yogurt
2 peaches
1/4 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 cup ice cubes

Directions:

Peel, pit and cut peaches into chunks.

Add peaches, yogurt, brown sugar and cinnamon to a Vita-Mix blender.

Mix on high for one minute.

Add the ice cubes.

Blend on high for 2 minutes or until smooth.

Broccoli And Carrot Smoothie

This recipe has an interesting combination of ingredients. If you try it leave a message with your thoughts on how it tastes. It looks rather ‘interesting’.

Ingredients:

2 slices onion (you can use 1 if you prefer)
1 cup broccoli (not frozen)
1 tomato
1/2 raw carrot
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup sunflower seeds (hulled)
1/2 cup sesame seeds (un-hulled)
1 cup kale
1 to 2 tbsp lemon juice
4 tbsp salsa

Directions:

Place lemon juice and salsa into a Vita-Mix blender.

Add remaining ingredients.

Replace lid and make sure securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Boost Your Metabolism With A Little Spice Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup cucumber (peeled & chopped)
1/2 cup red bell pepper (chopped)
2 cups tomato juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp scallions (chopped)
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce

Directions:

Add all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Make sure lid is securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Pour into serving glasses and refridgerate for at least 30 minutes before drinking.a

Peppermint And Chocolate Smoothie

Watching what you eat but have a chocolate craving? Give this recipe a try. It’s sure to cure your craving for chocolate as well as add a little ‘zest’ to the flavor with a hint of peppermint.

Ingredients:

6 cups chocolate milk
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
1 package (4-serving size) instant vanilla pudding mix (you may use chocolate if you wish)
Peppermint sticks

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender place half (3 cups) of the milk and the pudding mix.

Make sure lid is securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Pour into a pitcher.

Add remainder of milk (3 cups) and peppermint extract. Stir until mixed together.

Place in refrigerator for 1 hour.

To Serve – stir mixture and pour into glasses and garnish with a peppermint stick.

Basic Blueberry Smoothie

Blend yourself up a glass full of antioxidants with this blueberry recipe. Antioxidants help fight off sickness and disease in our bodies. Blueberries contain vitamins C and E a great form of antioxidants.

Ingredients:

blueberries – 1 pint fresh (you may substitute the fresh for frozen if you wish. Use 2 cups – 10 ounces – frozen)
1 container (8 ounces) vanilla yogurt
1 cup pineapple-orange juice or pineapple, orange and strawberry juice blended
2 teaspoons sugar

Add blueberries, yogurt, sugar and juice to Vita-Mix blender.

Make sure lid is on and secure.

Blend for about one minute on high or until smooth.

Groovy Green Smoothie

When it comes to getting your kids to eat fruit it isn’t always an easy task. It might be a little easier to get them to drink their fruits so give this groovy green smoothie a shot!

Ingredients:

1 banana, cut in chunks
1 cup grapes
1 (6 ounce) tub vanilla yogurt
1/2 apple, cored and chopped
1 1/2 cups fresh spinach leaves

Directions:

Place the banana, grapes, yogurt, apple and spinach into a blender. Cover, and blend until smooth, stopping frequently to push down anything stuck to the sides. Pour into glasses and serve.

Basic Power Smoothie

Here is a basic smoothie recipe that is sure to get your blood pumping and get you moving.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup fruite juice (orange, pineapple, cranberry, etc)
1/2 banana

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vit-Mix blender.

Make sure lid is snuggly in place.

Blend on high until desired consistency reached.

Note: You can add some soy protein powder, molasses and wheat germ to get some added nutritional value in this recipe if you wish. Use 1 tablespoon of the soy powder & molasses and 1 teaspoon of the wheat germ.

Smoothie With A Little This And A Little That

This recipe has a little bit of this and a little bit of that hence the name.

Ingredients:

Half mango
1 banana
Half pineapple
1 cup of Orange Juice
4 strawberries
1 teaspoon of honey
2 scoops Ice-cream

Directions:

Cut strawberries in half and the banana, mango and pineapple into 4 pieces.

Put the 2 scoops of ice-cream into a Vita-Mix blender.

Pour orange juice in .

Add honey.

Put all fruit ingrediants in Vita-Mix.

Make sure lid is tightly in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Sherbet And Berries Smoothie

Ingredients:

16 ounces orange juice
2 scoops raspberry sherbet
5 blackberries
4 strawberries
15 blueberries

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender. (Note: make sure to add the juice last)

Replace lid and make sure it’s securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Note: You can make this smoothie thicker by adding either more sherbet or some ice.
