Not Your Typical Orange Julius Smoothie

Maybe the title shouldn’t even have orange julius in it. This recipe falls under the ‘green smoothies’ category. You can’t ignore the health benefits of a green smoothie!

Ingredients:

2 large mangoes
1 1/2 cups orange juice
2 cups fresh parsley or spinach
2 cups of ice

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add all ingredients and blend well.

Serve and enjoy!

Banana Walnut Berry Smoothie

This holiday season if you are trying to keep things on the ‘healthy’ side try this recipe. Not only is it satisfying but it’s also healthy. It’s full of nutrients mainly calcium and magnesium.

Ingredients:

32 ounces water
1 1/2 cups raw walnuts
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 1/2 bananas (make sure they are ripe)
1 cup strawberry/raspberry combo
1/2 cup flax meal
1 tablespoon Vanilla

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high for one minute.

Serve immediately.

Berry Almond Smoothie

Ingredients:

32 ounces of water
1 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup flax meal
1 cup assorted berries
1 1/2 cups raw almonds

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add all ingredients.

Blend on high for 1 minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Spiced Apple Smoothie

Ingredients:

3/4 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
2 cups nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt
1 cup frozen apple (diced)
1/2 cup apple juice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add frozen yogurt, applesauce and apple juice till and blend until smooth.

Now add the cinnamon and nutmeg along with the frozen apple chunks. Blend on high until apple pieces are lightly crushed.

Serve immediately.

Diet Smoothie

If you’re watching what you eat, counting calories or any thing else related to ‘dieting’ here’s a recipe that is perfect for you.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup all-natural fruit juice
1 cup vanilla yogurt (non-fat)
1 1/2 cups frozen fruit (6 1/2 ounces)

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender puree yogurt with fruit juice until smooth.

While the blender is still running, add fruit (through the hole in the top of the lid) and continue to puree until smooth.

Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie

If you like sweet potatoes this recipe will be right up your alley.

Ingredients:

2 containers vanilla yogurt (8 ounces each)
1 cup milk
1 banana, peeled and sliced
2 sweet potatoes, cooked and cooled
1 teaspoon sugar
10 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender put the sweet potatoes and banana.

Now add the yogurt then pour in the milk.

Add the sugar and place the ice cubes on top.

Blend on high until smooth.

Chocolate Marshmallow Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
2 tablespoons marshmallow topping
1 tablespoon malted milk powder
3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender put the ice cream and milk and pulse a couple of times to just slightly blend.

Now add chocolate syrup, marshmallow topping, malted milk powder and the peanut butter.

Blend until just smooth.

Note: You can add whip topping and a maraschino cherry on top for garnishment if you would like.

Apple and Carmel Smoothie

This recipe tastes just as good as a caramel apple!

Ingredients:

1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
1/4 cup Carmel ice cream topping
1/8 cup chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
8 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add the caramel ice cream topping and chocolate syrup.

Now add the apples.

Pour in the milk.

Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Add the ice cubes to the top.

Blend on high for one minute or until smooth.

Ice Cream Social Smoothie

Ok this isn’t really an ice cream social but this yummy recipe does call for ice cream and is sure to be a hit with the kids!

Ingredients:

2 cups apple cider
2 cups ice cream (vanilla)
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add the vanilla ice cream.

Now add the apple cider, nutmeg, honey and cinnamon.

Blend until smooth.

Thanksgiving Smoothie

It’s that time of year again – time for all things pumpkin flavored! Here’s a yummy smoothie flavored with lots of pumpkin.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup pumpkin
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 banana, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons maple syrup
4 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender put banana and pumpkin.

Now add milk and pie spice followed by the maple syrup.

Add the ice cubes.

Blend on high until smooth.
