Peppermint Smoothie

If you like the taste of peppermint you’ll love this recipe.

Ingredients:

2 cups milk
2 cups frozen vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons crushed peppermint candy
1 1/2 cups of ice
peppermint sprig for garnish (optional)

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender place all ingredients.

Blend on high until smooth. (It may take a little while to get all the peppermint candy blended/pulverized).

Pour into glass and garnish with peppermint sprig if you wish.

Note: If you have Candy Canes left over from Christmas, you can garnish with one of those too.

Coconut Green Smoothie

This recipe calls for two heaping handfuls of spinach. If you don’t like spinach you should still give this smoothie a try. You won’t even know there’s spinach in it once you get everything blended together, other than the green color of it!

Ingredients:

2 heaping handfuls spinach
2 bananas
1 cup soy milk
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Beet and Plum Smoothie

This recipe has several ingredients that a lot of people aren’t fond of – grapefruit, beets and plums – so be aware if you’re not a fan of these ingredients!

Ingredients:

1 grapefruit
1 red beet
3 plums
1 lemon (juiced)
3 stalks of greens (broccoli, spinach, etc)
2 tablespoons hemp seeds
2 cups water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add all ingredients.

Replace lid and make sure it’s securely in place.

Blend on high for one minute or until smooth.

Lemon Plum Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 lemon (juiced)
1 plum
1 apple
1 carrot
2 cups leafy green (baby spinach works well)
1/2 cup water

Instructions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Note: You may only want to use 1/2 of the lemon. It just depends on how much lemon you like.

Banana and Plum Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana
2 plums
1/2 vine tomato
2 cups baby spinach
1 cup water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, put all ingredients.

Replace lid and make sure it’s securely in place.

Blend on high for one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Plum and Watermelon Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 cups watermelon
1 banana
2 plums
2 celery stalks
2 cups fresh baby spinach
1/2 cup water if needed

Directions:

Place all ingredients except water in a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Note: If the consistency is really thick, add the water to thin it out a little bit.

Mango Plum Smoothie

Plums are a great source of potassium and fiber as well as other vitamins and nutrients.

Ingredients:

1/2 mango
1 carrot
2 cups fresh baby spinach
2 plums
1 cup water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Tofu Smoothie

Tofu is a great way to give yourself a boost of vitamins! It’s high in calcium, a great source of protein, full of amino acids and isoflavones.

Ingredients:

1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup soy milk
1 large banana
4 inch cube of soft tofu
1/2 cup blueberries (frozen work best)
3/4 cup strawberries (frozen work best)

Directions:

1. In a Vita-Mix blender add the yogurt and milk. Then place the banana and tofu in blender. Mix on high until mixed together well.

2. Now add the frozen fruit and blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Serve immediately.

Purple Smoothie

This smoothie recipe is full of different nutrition sources. Bananas are a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin C and fiber. The blackberries provide omega 3 fatty acids, fiber and vitamin C, as well as provide antioxidants. While peanut butter is very high in fat it is a good source of vitamin E, protein, fiber and folic acid. And last but certainly not least, milk is a good source of calcium and vitamin D.

Ingredients:

5 ice cubes
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup blackberries
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 large banana

Directions:

1. In a Vita-Mix blender add the ice, milk, banana, blackberries and peanut butter.

2. Blend on high until smooth.

3. Serve immediately.

Red Fruity Smoothie #2

Ingredients:

5 strawberries
5 pitted cherries
1 banana
2 medium chunks of pineapple
Pinch of coconut
3 ounces orange juice
12 ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until desired consistency is reached.
