Apple Peach Smoothie

This recipe makes 4 servings. You can use less ingredients to make fewer servings if you wish. The almond extract is used to add a little ‘extra’ dose of flavor. If you wish, you can skip it.

Ingredients:

2 (8 ounces each) cartons peach yogurt
1 (6 ounce) can frozen apple juice concentrate
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
4 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place all the ingredients.

Blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Serve immediately.

Mocha Smoothie

Here’s a great alternative to that cup of java you find yourself grabbing every morning.

Ingredients:

8 ounces coffee yogurt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
6 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place all ingredients.

Blend on high for 30 seconds.

Serve immediately.

Autumn Punch recipe

While this isn’t a smoothie recipe, I wanted to share this recipe that I came across just recently. It’s perfect for this time of year – the chilly, rainy, Autumn season.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups honey
3/4 cup lemon juice
6 whole cardamom seeds
3 3 inch cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole allspice
2 tsp whole cloves
1 1/2 quart cranberry juice
5 cups apple cider
5 cups apricot nectar
3 quart ginger ale
ice crushed

Directions:

Combine first 6 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Strain and discard spices. Chill. Combine chilled mixture with remaining juices and ginger ale. Serve over crushed ice. Yield: 7-1/2 quarts.

Non-Alcholic Irish Cream Smoothie

Here’s a way to enjoy the great tasting Irish Cream without alcohol. This recipe is for a single serving so if you want it to serve more, use more ingredients.

Ingredients:

Chocolate syrup
1 tsp. non-alcoholic amaretto flavored syrup
3 tsp. non-alcoholic Irish cream flavored syrup
Splash of milk
3 scoops vanilla ice cream

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place the three scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Add a splash of milk. (Note: The more milk you use the runnier it will be, the less you use the thicker it will be)

Blend on high for 30 seconds.

Add the non-alcoholic amaretto & Irish cream syrup and the chocolate syrup.

Blend until the syrups are completely mixed.

Pour into serving glass and garnish with whipped cream & chocolate syrup.

Non-Alcholic Lime Margarita Smoothie

This is a fun recipe to make for kids.

Ingredients:

1 package lime Jell-O gelatin (small package)
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup pineapple tidbits (canned or you can use fresh)
2 cups vanilla ice cream
ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add the jello and boiling water. Blend for 30 seconds.

Now add the pineapple, milk, ice cream and handful of ice cubes. Blend on high until smooth.

Pour into serving glasses and serve immediately.

Fruit Salad Smoothie

Here’s another delicious smoothie recipe. Enjoy!

This will make 3-4 servings

Ingredients:

1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup Orange Juice
1 cup cup pineapple
1 cup strawberries
1 cup cantaloupe
1 banana (cut into chunks)
2 kiwi fruit (peeled and cut into chunks)
1 1/2 tablespoons honey (more/less depending on your liking & how sweet you want to make it – just remember fruit has a natural sweetness to it so you probably don’t want to use a lot of honey)

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place all ingredients.

Puree until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Vegetable and Pineapple Smoothie

This recipe is full of different nutrients with a little of this and a little of that for ingredients.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup tomatoes (chopped)
1 shallot (pureed)
1/2 cup cucumbers (peeled and chopped)
1/4 cup bell pepper (chopped)
1/2 cup carrot juice
1/4 cup V-8 juice
1/2 cup pineapple yogurt (can substitute with sour cream)

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place tomatoes, shallot, cucumbers, and bell pepper and blend on high for 30 seconds to one minute.

Add carrot juice, V-8 juice and yogurt to the blended vegetables. Blend on high to mix the juices and yogurt with the already blended vegetables.

Bananas and Apples Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 bananas (frozen works best – peeled and chopped)
1 cup orange juice
2 Gala apples (peeled, cored and chopped)
1/2 cup milk

Directions:

In a blender combine frozen banana, orange juice, apple and milk. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Apples and Cinnamon Smoothie

Fall is here and what better way to enjoy this season than with apples?

Ingredients:

1 apple
1 cup yogurt (vanilla flavored works best)
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup crushed ice

Directions:

Wash and peel apple, remove seeds and cut into cubes.

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high for one minute.

Note: This recipe is made to serve one. You can add more ingredients to serve more people.

Orange Pear Smoothie with a Kick

Need a pick me up in the morning? Give this smoothie a try. It’s sure to get your motor running.

Ingredients:

1 large pear
1 large orange
dash of Cayenne pepper (or some sort of ‘hot’ pepper)
5 ice cubes

Directions:

Juice the orange so you have fresh juice.

Add the pear, fresh orange juice, pepper and ice cubes.

Blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.
