Fruit Smoothie to Love

It's no surprise that kids like sweet things.  The honey in this recipe adds a touch of sweetness making it a kids favorite.

And we also know that kids can be picky so it's no surprise that some don't like cranberry juice. If your child doesn't like the taste of cranberry juice you can experiment with different flavored juices.

1 Bartlet pear, cored, peeled and cut into small chunks
1/2 cup seedless grapes
1 banana cut into small chunks
2 teaspoons honey
1/4 cup cranberry juice
6 ice cubes

Place the banana, pear, grapes and honey into Vita-Mix blender. Puree until very smooth.

Once the above ingredients have been pureed, add the cranberry juice and pulse 2 or 3 times until mixed together.

Now add the ice and blend to desired consistancy.

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

This is another great smoothie recipe for the kids. Anytime chocolate is involved kids come running. But the great thing about this recipe is that there isn't much chocolate in it and there are lots of good things in it.

6 oz. frozen light fat-free vanilla yogurt (if you prefer you can use cherry flavored yogurt)
2 tablespoons Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
4 oz. non-fat milk

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender. Blend until smooth.

Black & Blue Bomber

I haven't tried this recipe with frozen berries but now that it's winter it's a bit harder to find fresh blueberries and blackberries.

This is a great recipe to make for the kids. Just let them know there is some sorbet in there and they'll be all for it.

2 oz. blueberries
2 oz. blackberries
1 banana
4 oz. apple juice
3 oz. raspberry sorbet

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender. Blend until your desired consistency is reached.

Caramel Apple Smoothie

20 oz granny smith apples, peeled & diced
1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
6 oz. apple juice
10 oz. nonfat frozen vanilla yogurt

10 oz. ice cubes

Toss together the apple and lemon and place in freezer until partially frozen.

Pour apple juice into a Via-Mix blender, add the yogurt, caramel, ice cubes and frozen apples. Blend together.

Apple Pie Smoothie

This is a great substitute for applesauce. You can control the consistency of it by adding more or less of the chopped apple.

pinch nutmeg

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender and blend.
