Lemon Smoothie

Fruit & yogurt smoothies are a great way to get fruit and dairy. A lemon yogurt (as used in this recipe) is a great way to get a dose of calcium in your diet.

This recipe doesn’t list the amount of ingredients to use. It’s entirely up to you. Obviously for smaller serving sizes you would use less ingredients than if you were making enough for several kids.

Frozen lemonade (any flavor)
Strawberries (or any fruit)
Lemon yogurt (flavored or plain)
Skim milk
Ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients into Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

Coffee In A Blender Smoothie

If you like coffee this recipe is for you. However, I’ve tried this one and I didn’t think it had that much of a coffee flavor to it. I think the other ingredients kind of ‘outweigh’ the instant coffee taking away from the ‘burst’ of coffee flavor I was expecting.

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons instant coffee
1 cup milk
6 ice cubes
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Cover and blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 avocado (large sized)
2 teaspoons milk (condensed milk)
8 ounces ice

Directions:

Scoop out the avocado into a Vita-Mix blender.

Add the condensed milk.

Now add the ice.

On high blend until it’s a semi-creamy texture.

Note: If you want it sweeter add more condensed milk.

If you want to make this a ‘healthier’ smoothie you can add very small amounts of echinacea, ginseng, etc).
