Flaxseed is a great ingredient to add to a smoothie. All to often it’s passed up in the grocery store (or health stores) because it doesn’t look ‘tasty’ but you shouldn’t pass up this nutritional ingredient.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
3/4 cup non-fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup low-fat soy milk
1/2 cup mixed berries (whatever combination of berries you choose)

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Replace lid & make sure that the lid is tightly in place.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Note: Keep your flaxseed in the fridge! Because the seeds are ground up they can spoil but keeping them cold (in the fridge) will help prevent them from spoiling.
