Spinach, Beet and Apple Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 apple (cored, peeled and chopped)
2 cups fresh spinach
1 red beet (peeled and chopped)
1 date
Ice

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high for one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Cucumber and Carrot Smoothie

This recipe is full of nutrients. Cucumbers are very low calorie, high in potassium (electrolytes), full of anti-oxidants and so much more. Carrots are a good source of vitamins B1, B2 and B6, vitamin K, potassium and much more.

Ingredients:

1 large cucumber
1 large carrot
2 cups tomato juice
1-2 cups ice

Directions:

1. Cut up the cucumber and carrot into medium sized chunks. Add to Vita-Mix blender.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend on high for one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Apple and Kale Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

3/4 cup kale (chopped; make sure stem removed first before chopping)
1 celery stalk
1 banana
1/2 cup apple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender. Blend on high until smooth.

Kale Smoothie

Kale is a wonderful vegetable to add to a smoothie as it’s rich in vitamins and nutrients. It’s full of fiber, calcium, vitamin A…just to name a few.

This recipe makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

12 ounces apple juice
4 large kale leaves (make sure you remove the stems)
3 large bananas
2 cups of ice

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add the apple juice and kale. Blend on high until the kale is is thoroughly blended.

Add the bananas and ice and blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Winter Green Ginger Smoothie Recipe

Ginger is great to add to your diet because it’s full of vitamins and minerals. It has dietary fiber, vitamin B, magnesium and more. It also helps reduce inflammation.

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh spinach
1 cup frozen berries
1/4 inch ginger-root, or to taste
2 cups water

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high for one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Gazpacho Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 small tomato, quartered
3/4 cup tomato juice cocktail, chilled
2 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro leaves
1 small garlic clove, chopped
1/4 jalapeno pepper (or to taste), chopped
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Juice of 1/2 fresh lime (about 1 Tbsp.)
Small wedge of fresh lime (for garnish – optional)
a cherry tomato (for garnish – optional)

Directions:

1. Freeze tomato in a plastic bag until hard, about 3 to 4 hours. (They will keep up to one week. Several tomatoes may be frozen at a time.)

2. Place frozen tomato, juice, cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, cumin and lime juice in a blender. Puree until well blended and almost smooth.

3. Pour into a tall tumbler filled with ice cubes. Garnish, if desired, with a small wedge of lime and a cherry tomato, speared on a short skewer and added to the glass like a swizzle stick. Serve immediately.

Tomato Smoothie

This isn’t a recipe for the faint of heart. You have to love tomatoes to enjoy this one!

Ingredients:

2 tomatoes (chopped then frozen)
1 cup tomato juice
juice of 1/2 lemon
3 basil leaves

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, place the frozen tomatoes and pour in the tomato juice, lemon juice and basil leaves.

Blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Avocado and Orange Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 large oranges
1 small avocado
1 lemon
Handful of asparagus spears
2 handfuls of parsley
1 cup drinking water

Directions:

1. Cut avocado in half. (Remove pit). Scoop flesh and place into Vita-Mix blender
2. Add parsley.
3. Cut asparagus into chunks and add to blender.
4. Blend on high for one minute or until smooth.
5. Juice oranges and lemon & add the juice to the Vita-Mix blender and blend until smooth.
6. Add water and puree until texture is desired consistency (not too thick)

Note: This recipe makes 2 servings

Asparagus Smoothie

Don’t let the title scare you off. Ok, well maybe it should. It did me! So, if you give this smoothie a try please leave a comment letting me know what you think.

Ingredients:

2 bananas (frozen work best)
1 mango (make sure you take the pit out)
2 oranges (juiced)
handful/bunch of asparagus (with ends cut off)
5-10 ice cubes

Directions:

1. Juice the oranges.

2. Cut ends of asparagus off.

3. In a Vita-Mix blender, add all the ingredients (using as much or as little ice as you want) and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Kiwi Banana Celery Smoothie

Here’s another recipe I found but haven’t tried yet. Please let me know what you think of it.

Ingredients:

1 large banana
3 celery stalks
4 Kiwi fruit
water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Note: You can garnish with a piece of celery if you wish.
