Celery Tomato and Cucumber Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup yogurt (plain)
1 tomato (small)
1 celery stalk (chopped)
a few spinach leaves
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and chopped
salt and pepper (to taste)
6 ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Carrot and Celery Smoothie

You might want to play around with this recipe. Add some other ingredients like ginger or cilantro or some seasoning. It’s on the bland side with just these three ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 carrot
1 piece of celery stalk
5-10 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add all the ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Note: If the smoothie is too thick you can add some sort of liquid – a flavored juice or some water to think it out a litte.

Dr. Oz’s Green Drink Recipe

I’m sure you’re probably familiar with Dr. Oz. He’s always on the Oprah show and everyone knows Oprah. This green drink recipe is something that Dr. Oz says he drinks almost every morning.

Ingredients:

2 apples (cored, but leave the skin on them)
2 BIG handfuls of spinach
1 medium cucumber
3 ribs/sticks of chopped celery (if you’re using Vita-mix, you only need to cut the celery rubs into thirds)
1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root, peeled
1 bunch parsley
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

This recipe makes about three to four servings.

Beet and Plum Smoothie

This recipe has several ingredients that a lot of people aren’t fond of – grapefruit, beets and plums – so be aware if you’re not a fan of these ingredients!

Ingredients:

1 grapefruit
1 red beet
3 plums
1 lemon (juiced)
3 stalks of greens (broccoli, spinach, etc)
2 tablespoons hemp seeds
2 cups water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add all ingredients.

Replace lid and make sure it’s securely in place.

Blend on high for one minute or until smooth.

Lemon Plum Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 lemon (juiced)
1 plum
1 apple
1 carrot
2 cups leafy green (baby spinach works well)
1/2 cup water

Instructions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Note: You may only want to use 1/2 of the lemon. It just depends on how much lemon you like.

Banana and Plum Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana
2 plums
1/2 vine tomato
2 cups baby spinach
1 cup water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, put all ingredients.

Replace lid and make sure it’s securely in place.

Blend on high for one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Plum and Watermelon Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 cups watermelon
1 banana
2 plums
2 celery stalks
2 cups fresh baby spinach
1/2 cup water if needed

Directions:

Place all ingredients except water in a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Note: If the consistency is really thick, add the water to thin it out a little bit.

Mango Plum Smoothie

Plums are a great source of potassium and fiber as well as other vitamins and nutrients.

Ingredients:

1/2 mango
1 carrot
2 cups fresh baby spinach
2 plums
1 cup water

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

The Gross Green Smoothie

With a title like that how can you not try this recipe? I’ll admit – I haven’t tried it. Please leave a comment if you try this, I would like to know what your thoughts are (does it taste good or is it…well gross?).

Ingredients:

baby spinach (handful)
1/3 cup tofu
1 cup milk
1/2 cup mixed berries
1/2 banana
honey (little bit)

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high for a couple minutes or until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Super Raspberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 to 1 1/2 cups raspberries (frozen work best)
1 scoop any flavor protein powder
broccoli – as much or as little as you wish
2 tablespoons orange juice
3/4 cup soy milk

Directions:

Add all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.
