New Year Smoothie

Technically this smoothie isn’t really for the ‘new year’ – it’s for whenever but seems how in January a lot of people are starting on healthier eating journey’s, this green smoothie is perfect for the ‘new year’.

Ingredients:
(this recipe makes approximately 4 glasses)

1 cup chopped kale
3 celery stalks (chopped)
1 cup fresh pineapple
1 cup mango (frozen)
1 banana, frozen
1 cup romaine lettuce leaves
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Gazpacho Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 small tomato, quartered
3/4 cup tomato juice cocktail, chilled
2 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro leaves
1 small garlic clove, chopped
1/4 jalapeno pepper (or to taste), chopped
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Juice of 1/2 fresh lime (about 1 Tbsp.)
Small wedge of fresh lime (for garnish – optional)
a cherry tomato (for garnish – optional)

Directions:

1. Freeze tomato in a plastic bag until hard, about 3 to 4 hours. (They will keep up to one week. Several tomatoes may be frozen at a time.)

2. Place frozen tomato, juice, cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, cumin and lime juice in a blender. Puree until well blended and almost smooth.

3. Pour into a tall tumbler filled with ice cubes. Garnish, if desired, with a small wedge of lime and a cherry tomato, speared on a short skewer and added to the glass like a swizzle stick. Serve immediately.

Pear Celery Smoothie Recipe

Start your morning off with this healthy pear and celery smoothie recipe.

Ingredients:

1 grapefruit
4 celery sticks
2 apples
2 pears
chopped mint

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, blend all ingredients together until smooth.

Garnish with chopped mint and serve immediately.

Banana’s and Chocolate Smoothie Recipe

Who doesn’t like bananas and chocolate? Give this recipe a try for a chocolatey ‘healthy’ treat.

Ingredients:

6 ounces cherry yogurt
2 frozen bananas
2 tablespoons Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup
1/2 cup milk
4-6 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients and blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Peach Apple Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

6 ounces frozen apple juice concentrate
8 ounces peach yogurt
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
5 ice cubes

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all ingredients except ice cubes. Blend on high for 30 seconds to one minute. Then add ice cubes and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Kiwi Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup milk
1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
1 scoop vanilla ice cream

Directions:

Place all ingredients in blender container. Blend for 30 seconds or until smooth. Serve at once.

Blueberry Smoothie Recipe

This recipe will make about 2 servings.

Ingredients:

2 cups (10 ounces) frozen blueberries
1 cup pineapple-orange juice
8 ounces container vanilla yogurt
2 teaspoons sugar

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add the blueberries, yogurt, juice and sugar. Blend on high for approximately one minute or until desired consistency is reached.

Christmas Fruit Smoothie Recipe

Here is another great smoothie recipe you can enjoy the Holidays with.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup frozen raspberries
1 large banana, peeled, placed in a resealable bag, and frozen
4 frozen peach slices
3/4 cup orange juice

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender, add all the ingredients. Blend on low until desired consistency is reached. You may need to add more orange juice to help make it not be so thick.

Cranberry Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups almond milk (I like the Blue Diamond brand, Original flavor)
1/4 cup cashews (give the raw ones a try)
1/8th Teaspoon Stevia
4 ice cubes

Directions:

Place cranberries and water in a pot and bring to a boil, then reduce the flame and let the berries simmer for 10 minutes. Remove pot from flame. Place berries in the fridge and allow to cool.

Once cool, place berries, cashews, almond milk, Stevia and ice into a Vita-Mix blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

Apple Peach Kick Smoothie

If you like apples and peaches, give this recipe a try.

Ingredients:

1 large peach
3 ounces milk
2 ounces apple juice concentrate (frozen)

Directions:

Peel the peach and cut into slices. Once cut, freeze for 2-3 hours.

After peaches have been in the freezer for the time recommended above, remove and add to a Vita-Mix blender with the milk and frozen apple juice concentrate.

Blend on high for 3 minutes or until desired consistency is reached.

Serve immediately.
