Cocoa Banana Smoothie

If you’re a chocolate lover this one is for you. It’s a great way to get a ‘dose’ of chocolate but it’s much healthier than eating a candy bar, M & M’s, etc.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup tofu
1/2 cup soymilk
1 banana
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Directions:

1. Peel banana, slice and freeze until firm.

2. Place tofu, soymilk, honey and cocoa in a Vita-Mix blender.

3. Make sure lid is firmly in place.

4. Blend on high until mixed.

5. Add banana and continue to blend on high until smooth.

Chocolate Berry Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup raspberries (frozen berries work best)
1/2 cup strawberries (frozen berries work best)
1 scoop chocolate whey powder
Crystal Light – raspberry flavored (to taste)

Directions:

1. Add whey powder and frozen berries to Vita-Mix blender.

2. Add Crystal Light until berries are covered.

3. Replace lid and make sure it’s securely in place.

4. Blend on high until mixed well.

5. Taste and if desired add more crystal light.

Fruit and Veggie Combo Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 banana
2 cups peaches
1 tablespoon lentil sprouts
2 tablespoons alfalfa sprouts
1 tablespoon whey powder
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1/4 cup kifer

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender.

Make sure lid is securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Fruit Fusion Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/2 banana
1 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 teaspoon lime juice
2 tablespoons coconut milk
1/2 cup ice

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender.

Make sure lid is securely in place.

Blend on high until smooth.

Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie

Here’s a great recipe to help you beat the summer heat.

Ingredients:

250g strawberry yogurt
550ml lemonade
25 strawberries (frozen or fresh)
20 ice cubes

Directions:

1. If using fresh strawberries cut the top off each one.

2. Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender.

3. Blend on high until desired consistency is reached.

Note: For a variation of this recipe you can use pink lemonade instead of regular lemonade.

Pears and Pinapple Smoothie

Ingredients:

4 pears (peeled, cored & chopped)
1 pineapple
400ml yogurt
4 ice cubes

Directions:

1. Prepare the pineapple – remove the top stem portion by twisting until it comes off, using a knife cut the outer layer of the pineapple, remove the core and then cut fruit into quarters.

2. Chop the pears into four (each pear should be chopped into fours).

3. Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender.

4. Blend on high until smooth.

Lemon Sherbert Smoothie

Here’s a great recipe to help you cool down in the summer’s heat. Well maybe it won’t keep you cool but it still tastes delicious if you like lemon flavor!

This recipe will make 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

lemon sherbert (2 pints – softened)
milk (1 1/2 cups)
fruit (2 cups – frozen)

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a Vita-Mix blender and blend on high until smooth.

Fruit and Veggie Smoothie

Fruits and veggies should be a regular part of our diets. They help us stay healthy by providing lots of different vitamins and minerals our bodies need.

Ingredients:

1 cup of apples (sweet tasting apples are better)
1 cup apple juice
1/4 cup applesauce
1/2 cup cucumbers (peeled and sliced)
1/2 cup sliced carrots
nutmeg or cinnamon (optional – a dash of it)
2 cups of ice

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Fruit Soy Smoothie

A lot of people are adding more soy to their diets as they become health conscious. But aside from that there’s more nutritional benefits to adding soy to your diet. Soy is full of amino acids and protein which are bodies need for some basic daily functions.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup cherries
1 banana
1/2 cup yogurt (soy)
1 cup milk (soy)

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a Vita-Mix blender.

Blend on high until smooth.

Vanilla Soy Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/4 cup pineapple-orange juice concentrate (frozen)
3/4 cup soymilk (vanilla)
1 banana
2 cups peaches
1 cup ice

Directions:

In a Vita-Mix blender add the vanilla soy milk and frozen juice concentrate.

Add the banana and peach slices.

Make sure lid is securely in place and blend on high until smooth.

Remove lid and add ice cubes.

Replace lid and bledn on high again until ice is chopped up and blended.
